Purchased this cooler after having spoken to other wine collectors. Summertime in our community is very hot and dry, 105+ in July and August, a wine cooler must be compressor driven for the temperatures to remain within range. On the average a Thermoelectric Wine Cooler maintains temperatures within 20 degrees of the air temp, where I live that would still be too warm for whites and reds. The NewAir AWC270E 27 Bottle Compressor Wine Cooler keeps our red wine at 55 degrees, fluctuation is only 1 degree (54 or 56 degrees), overall we are very pleased with the quality, function, and styling.
On the Air & Water website a reviewer stated this cooler was too noisy, I have wood floors and having followed instructions for proper placement and leveling the noise is minimal and what I expect for a small refrigerator. I certainly wouldn't place it in the bedroom, but in the dining room what little noise it makes isn't noticeable. Be sure to allow space on the sides and back as the refrigerator needs to "breathe", be aware this model must stand free and not meant to be built-in to kitchen cabinetry.
From Air & Water the cooler arrived in perfect condition (well packed), was easy to attach the door handle, and within 1 hour was ready to load our wine collection. We've started storing champagne in the cooler, only drawback is the lost capacity due to larger bottles. Would recommend a larger cooler if champagne is going to be stored in excess of 4 bottles.
